Information you provide

If you use The Year Behind You 2026 reflection form, we ask for your email address and optionally your first name. The form also includes a separate, optional checkbox for receiving occasional ideas and updates from Design Your Year.

If you request After What Was, we ask for your email address and optionally your name so we can notify you when the novel is ready. That request is used to notify you about the novel. A separate, optional checkbox lets you agree to occasional ideas and updates from Design Your Year. We record that marketing choice separately.

You can request The Year Behind You 2026 without agreeing to marketing emails. The marketing checkbox is not selected by default. If you select it, we record that choice separately from your reflection request.

How we use the information

• To record your request and notify you about the novel when it is ready.
• To record your request and process your request for the reflection.
• To send occasional editorial ideas and updates only if you separately opt in through the optional marketing checkbox.
• To maintain and protect the website and respond to requests.

Where information is stored

Reflection and novel request records are stored in a Supabase database used by Design Your Year. Database access is restricted to server-side operations. The website is hosted using Cloudflare infrastructure. Service providers may process technical information as necessary to operate these services.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell personal information. We do not share reflection or novel request details with unrelated third parties for their own marketing. Information may be processed by infrastructure providers supporting the website and database, or disclosed when legally required.

Retention and your choices

We retain request information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, subject to applicable legal obligations. You may ask us to correct or delete information you provided, or withdraw your marketing consent. Withdrawing marketing consent does not cancel a reflection request.

Cookies and analytics

This website may use essential technical functions needed to deliver pages and forms. Any non-essential analytics, advertising or tracking technologies will be described here before they are enabled.

Children

The website and The Year Behind You 2026 are intended for a general audience, not specifically for children under 13. Please do not submit a child's personal information through the form.

This notice describes the current reflection request form and website setup. It will need to be reviewed and expanded as email delivery, analytics, payment processing and commerce are introduced.
